Reasons to Get Excited for Football Season

The much-anticipated Premier League season started last Friday, and it offers football fans the chance to see their football idols battle it out on the pitch. There have been several new signings, and the teams have not wasted time in the transfer scene.

Heavy hitters Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United have all made significant strides for the new season. The season is on and EPL fans can book a bet with their favorite bookmakers to win with their teams.

Erling Haaland, one of the most prolific attackers, was acquired by Manchester City for considerable money. Yes, he did not post the best statistics in his debut match against Liverpool in the Community Shield, but he scored a double against Westham in City’s first league match. You can check with Betway to bet on Haaland finishing as the league’s top scorer.

Another new acquisition Julian Alvarez scored against Liverpool, as is Calvin Phillips, who is a perfect replacement for the long-serving Fernandino, who departed last season. Phillips is among the world’s best defensive midfielders, as seen by his performance for Leeds and England. Guardiola has once again done a magnificent job by bringing in players of this caliber, and Man City’s ability to draw in such talent is one of its greatest strengths.

On the other side of Manchester, Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, and Lisandro Martinez are just a few of the club’s recent signings, but there are signs Manchester United needs more than that to match Manchester City and Liverpool. If United does not make additional signings for new manager Ten Hag, it will be another difficult season.

Last season’s runners-up Liverpool lost Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich, but fans will argue that they have Luiz Diaz and Darwin Nunez as equally capable cover. The Reds secured the Community shield at the expense of Manchester City, but their start to the league showed that manager Jurgen Klopp has some work to do. They had to fight to draw 2-2 against a newly-promoted Fulham at Craven Cottage. It was business as usual for the ever-dependable Mo Salah, as he scored for the 6th time in all opening matches for Liverpool since joining from Roma.

Chelsea has had problems of their own too. They have made some good signings so far, with Raheem Sterling switching from Manchester City to London, Kalidou Koulibaly joining from Napoli in the Italian Serie A, and defender Marc Cucurella joining them this week from Brighton. They needed a central defender, and who could fill that position better than the world-class Koulibaly, who has excelled in the Italian league? There could be more additions since Chelsea is not done scouting for players.

Stellar Arsenal

Despite missing out on the Champions League last season, Arsenal has made some fantastic signings this time. Gabrielle Jesus was one of the biggest stars to leave Manchester City and sign for the Gunners for a hefty £50 million sum. And Jesus has proven himself to be a brilliant acquisition in the preseason games. With the help of Mikel Arteta, who fostered an excellent environment for them, and his Brazilian colleagues Gabrielle Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes, he has integrated himself into the squad very well. Arsenal will be among the Betway favorites to put a poor season behind them and finally join the Champions League fray next season.
